Format: 45 minutes for lecture and questions + 15 minutes discussions in break-out rooms (you will discuss the challenges of providing scientific advice at the international level)

During this lecture, we look at global climate governance through the lens of science and knowledge. In particular, we focus on the science-policy dynamics of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Among other things, we pay attention to how climate adaptation is framed and understood at the global level. Finally, we also trace a parallel with the experience of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), often labeled as the ‘IPCC for biodiversity’.
