Description:

Women’s contribution to European intellectual history was neglected just until recently and historical accounts consisted of a chain of male thinkers, writers and scientist. The situation has changed and nowadays some women intellectuals are included in the canon, but the fundamental questions remain. Is inclusion of women intellectuals in the canon really possible? What was and is needed to gain an authoritative voice as a writer and a philosopher? Marginalised from education and academic institutions how did women contribute to knowledge production? What strategies and media were at hand? What is needed for intellectual and public legitimacy? How do we write history? At the seminar, besides discussing these questions and other related questions, topics for examination papers will be considered.
