There is a lot of talk about culture, but do we actually know what we mean when we say “culture”? In the lecture, we will work with various understandings of culture and clarify how and why the culture concept matters for healthcare encounters. We will critically discuss the concepts of ethnicity and race from anthropological and postcolonial perspectives, and also look into what intersectional perspectives can offer as a support in understanding power relations and diversity.
