Covid-19 information: Due to the pandemic we will transfer the theoretical parts of the course to online teaching. We plan to execute the ship based teaching on site, but if this is not possible or if you are not allowed to travel here  due to Covid-19 we will provide an alternative solution. Check the course Canvas page regularly to keep yourself up dated on any changes.

Course information

Marine Project From Idea to Realization is the first course on the marine master program and focuses on transferable skills needed to pull of a marine project.  This include experimental design, fieldwork, data handling and plotting, multivariate statistics, project management and finally written and oral dissemination of results. Teaching involves workshops on specific topics, followed by two problem based group assignments. One theoretically oriented project, typically using monitoring data for hypothesis testing, and one practical project where students get to plan and execute a ship based sampling program to address a relevant research question.

The scheduled end time for workshops may sometimes be earlier (but not later) depending on how your group progress through the problem based assignments. It is still not clear if the ship based teaching can take place due to Covid-19, as soon as we know more the information will be posted here.

Litterature - The course does not have a course book. Materials will be distributed by the lecturers through this platform (Canvas).
