How to edit your own personal profile page on gu.se

First you login to the employees' portal on gu.se website: https://medarbetarportalen.gu.se/

You can find a link to these staff pages on the footer on every page of the gu.se website

When you login you will see in the top right hand corner of the screen your name and a drop down menu will be available there also.

The drop down menu when expanded contains the item "Redigera kontyaktupgifter i POP"

Clicking in this will bring you through to a landing page where you get information about the personal page system:

When you click on the "update your profile page in POP" option you will be brought into an editing system where you can input text etc. It is best to have the text pre-prepared and copy-and-paste as the system will often delete content that you are inputting directly because its just one of those things that happens in life to keep us cranky and alive...

If you do this while you are on Gothenburg University campus and connected through a GU network it is very simple. If you try to do it remotely - you will be asked to use the VPN - virtual private network connection and this is something i cannot go into here right now (... however, it's not that hard, its just a long winded set of instructions to give remotely via text.)

Of course you won't all be able to have such handsome profile picture as me, so the institution will understand if you prefer to leave it as the empty profile pic, as long as we get some info in the profile about who you are and what your research project is titled and a few hints as to what the reserach is about.
