Course literature

There is no course book. Instead I have prepared a series of "vignettes" ( = short pieces that expose either a little bit of theory, illuminating examples or some computational tricks). The relevant vignettes for each lecture/tutorial can be found under "Lectures" and "Tutorials".

Before the course starts I recommend you to browse through "Stuff that you should already know" (note: I will recall most of it during the lectures).

Exercise sheets (as well as detailed solutions to some of them) can be found here

Old exams (which can also work as exercise sheets) can be found here.

A list of recommended exercises (from the sheets + old exams) for each course week can be found here.

-----

In case you prefer to read from a book, I can recommend either

Fourier analysis - an introduction, by E. Stein and R. Shakarachi

or

Fourier analysis and its applications, by G.B. Folland.

Both books cover the material that will be discussed during the course (it does not matter which edition you use).

-----

Finally, my old lecture notes from 2018-2020 can be found here. I will not follow these methodically, so please do not use these as substitutes in case you miss a lecture. I post them here only as a complement to the vignettes, and to the "fresh" material that will be posted on this page as the course progresses.
