Course syllabus
Welcome to NGS analysis with clinical applications
The course :
- Is 100% online, no physical presence needed at the university.
- Contains a combination of lectures and practical sessions that introduce the analysis and interpretation of clinical NGS data applying various bioinformatics tools
- Covers essential concept in molecular biology and genetics as well as DNA resequencing (variant analysis) and RNA sequencing (gene expression analysis).
R will be introduced to perform basic analysis and visualization of the results. (no prior knowledge is needed)
You are expected to spend time of your own to complete the exercises (self-studies) and the final project assignment.
This is a tentative schedule of the course, where minor changes may take place.
Participants are required to bring their own computer with the corresponding administrator rights.
To pass the course you need to complete all practicals at the stated deadlines and present the results of the analysis of a clinical sample (provided by the teaching staff) in writing and as an oral presentation.
