About the teacher:

Jason is the Programme Director of the MFA Fine Art. He has a long history of working with performance - live and otherwise, ranging from text instruction works, video works, installation and performing with people and objects - in various contexts. This includes his own early works in the 1990's  which included live performances commissioned by organisations such as the ICA (London), Hull Time Based Arts, the Centre for Contemporary Arts (Glasgow), the National Review of Live Art (UK), Franklin Furnace (New York City), de Beweeging (Antwerp), and Its Queer up North (Manchester) amongst others. Archival holdings on his early works are held in the collections of Bristol University and the Live art Development Agency (LADA, London). He was previously a Co-Director of New Work Network - a now demised network of over 1200 performance makers. His curatorial projects engaging performance include the first European survey of the practices of Yvonne Rainer (2010) for Tramway (Glasgow) and the first survey of the art and organising of the Theatre of Mistakes (1974-81) for Raven Row gallery, London (2017) and Setting the Table (2019) for BALTIC Contemporary Arts (Gateshead). The latter two were co-funded by the Swedish Research Council.
