Course information
Welcome to PDA085, 'Introduction to the International Master in Educational Research'. The course is the first course in IMER, the International Master's Programme in Educational Research.
The course introduces different ways in which educational research has been discussed and is organised. Educational research is exemplified through shared critical reading of texts taken from various contexts, with emphasis on the sustainability and globalisation of education. The course will encourage students to think in various personal ways about educational research and what it might mean to take part in ’good’ research: what it is, what it has achieved, and what its ambitions might be. Students’ own thinking, reasoning and doing therefore play a pivotal role in the course. The course enlists students in researching the study programme’s contribution to education for sustainable development.
Please note that the course schedule is preliminary up to 2 weeks before the start of the course.
