This is an important course that creates community, offers each of you a chance to develop your presentation skills both as a recipient and presenter, listen to guest lectures, as well as a common space for important information.

Course start: Autumn 2022   week 35 -  20220829 - 20220115
Course continues: Spring 2023,  week 04 -  20230116 - 20230604

These seminars are the overarching, shared course for all Earth Science master’s program students and students carrying out or planing to carry out a thesis within Earth Science, regardless whether you study climatology, geology, bio-geochemistry ... or are an incoming or returning student.

Seminars usually take place every other Thursday, 16:00-17:30. It is possible though, that additional seminars are arranged on the "in-between" Thursdays e.g. to accommodate a thesis defense or a talk by an external speaker. Reminders will be sent in the beginning of each week when a seminar is planned. In addition, students are asked to always check the schedule on Canvas/TimeEdit.

If no new restrictions are announced, all seminars in the fall will take place on Campus in the rooms stated in TimeEdit.  I will strive to, but cannot guarantee, offer hybrid attendance for those who cannot make it to Campus. Zoom links will be provided via the Canvas course page / TimeEdit.

Detailed information  about the course and the program, requirements, and more will be provided at the first seminar on September 1.  Please contact the responsible teacher Roland Barthel (roland.barthel@gu.se), if  you want to participate in the course,  but can’t make it to the first seminar, or if you are unsure whether or not you should / can participate.

The schedule is preliminary up to two weeks before the start of the course.
