Course information.
Schedule. Observe that minor changes in the schedule might occur up to two weeks before the start of the course.
This course will give students knowledge in health promotion and prevention and community-based work using participatory approaches to create social and behavioural change, both on the individual and community levels. Theories in health promotion, disease prevention, social work, psychology, and the study of religion will be used to understand health behaviour and to create possibilities for sustainable health improvements.
Central to this course is a field study where students will use the theoretical and practical knowledge, they have gained throughout the programme to design local health promotion projects/interventions. The course has a strong emphasis on social justice and reflects a bottom-up and strength-based approach when discussing and advising people and communities on how to change their health behaviour.
