Message from the course coordinators:

Welcome to IK2231: Perspectives and Theories in Conflict Resolution!

As course coordinators, we are delighted to work with you this term! We have prepared a series of lectures, workshops, seminars, and activities that will support you in learning about and deepening your understanding of conflict resolution from a global perspective. It is important to note that we have paid close attention to both course content and supporting you in expressing your understanding of that content in writing. In other words, this is a writing-intensive course that will challenge you to think, learn, and communicate as an academic writer.

All information about the course is found on Canvas. The most convenient way to navigate the course is through Modules where you can find information about lectures, literature seminars, workshops, role-play, book reviews, and the peer response conference. Please note that the modules are listed thematically, not chronologically. This means that you need to pay close attention to dates and times. Speaking of time, we are observing the academic quarter, which means that sessions will begin fifteen minutes past the hour (e.g., 13:15) unless otherwise stated.

As master's students, we expect you to engage in extensive reading throughout this course. To help you manage this workload, we have included mandatory literature seminars. These seminars provide an excellent opportunity to discuss the course literature with your peers, exchange ideas, and broaden your perspective.

We are excited to meet you and embark on this learning journey together.
