Course Overview

In the course Reflection III the students complete an independent reflective work about film practice and the role of film practice and art in society. This work can be presented in a written essay. In the course, it is required that students include a prepared oral reflection and its implementation with regards to their own film practice and its relationship to the surrounding world, on the basis of the experiences that have been made by completing and presenting their own cinematic work.

During the course the own reflective work is developed through advanced group discussions about artistic methodology, artistic practice and research. These discussions are run as a red thread through the course and is essential for the development of the reflective submission. Relevant examples are cited in the discussions and in the relevant specializations. Examples of others' reflective exam projects are cited in conjunction with other theoretical and essayistic texts. The course builds on and is informed with close reference to the work developed during the course Film Practice IV.
