Welcome to the Department of Languages and Literatures, and the course English: Academic Writing!
With a special focus on MA theses, this course is an introduction to English academic prose and deals with rhetoric, stylistics, formal aspects of writing, traditions, conventions and practice. The main aims of the course are to provide knowledge and awareness of different academic writing traditions and help the students to analyse such linguistic and formal features that can be considered typical of various fields of research, in order for them to present their own research in English more easily.
This course is followed by students registered for the course EN2N01, and by students registered for the course SPL230.
Here on the course’s open page you can find general information such as the syllabus, the reading list, and the schedule. Before the course starts, students who are accepted for the course will receive an email from the student office with information about how to complete their registration. Once you are registered for the course you will be able to log in on Canvas and get access to all of the course information that is only available to the students taking the course. Via the link "Schedule" at the top of this page, you will find the schedule showing seminar dates and times, and in which room each seminar will take place. |
