MA Research Essay 

The course consists of an introductory meeting with a topic proposal seminar, four sessions with your supervisor and one peer review session. Your degree project will be examined at a final seminar.

Please note that supervision is offered during one term only. If students are unable to finish their essays within the course period, they must notify the Director of Studies as soon as possible in order to save any remaining supervision for the next course opportunity. Such a notification must be given before the course ends. See syllabus for more details.

 

Introduction 17 January, 11:15 -12:00 (on zoom)

 

Topic proposal seminar: 6 February, 10.15-12 (F402A)

  • Deadline: 2 February
  • Please submit your topic proposal in the Assignments folder on Canvas. The proposal should contain a title, a brief introduction, a statement of research aims and questions, some ideas concerning theoretical framework and concepts, main argument and a list of references.

 

Supervision 1: 1 March, Individual sessions

  • Deadline: 24 February (introduction, aim, research questions) 

 

Supervision 2: 23 March, Individual sessions

  • Deadline: 17 March (revised introduction, theory and method)

 

Supervision 3: 5 April, individual sessions

  • Deadline: 31 March (Introduction, one or two chapters)

 

Peer-review seminar: 10 April, 13.15 - 15 (C332) 

  • Deadline: 5 April on Canvas (introduction and/or a chapter)

 

Supervision 4: 17 May, individual sessions

  • Deadline: 12 May (full draft of essay)

 

Final seminar (Viva) 29 May, 13:15 - 15

  • Deadline: 22 May on Canvas

 

Viva Retake: 30 August, 15.15 - 17
