Course syllabus
Welcome to the course EU1141 Democracy and the European Union, 7,5 credits, Spring 2024!
This course is given as a single subject course in European Studies.
The course introduction takes place on the 21st of March 9:15-10:00 in lecture hall D143 and is followed by two introductory lectures 10:15-12:00 and 13:15-15:00 (see schedule)
Registration
To be able to see all the pages on Canvas, you must be registered for the course.
For exchange students: Course Administrator Vendela Lundskog will manually register you on the course on the 14th of March.
For freestanding students: You register yourself online in Ladok between the 14th of March to the 19th of March. More information about registration can be found here.

Literature There is no textbook for the course. Readings are listed in relation to each lecture in the different modules.
Preparatory reading: Previous years, students have thought that it was a good idea to post some preparatory reading for students who are not so well acquainted with the EU. To meet this request, we suggest you to read the following before the course, to be better prepared. The text is also the required reading for the first lecture:

Servicecenter - reception for the whole university
Servicecenter offers service and support to students, visitors and staff at the University of Gothenburg.
