Course syllabus

Welcome to the second year of the Embedded Design Master! 

We hope you have had a nice summer and that you are looking forward to exploring embedded design further in this course Engaging in an embedded design practice (EMD31A).

The first couple of days of the semester are scheduled accordingly;

Monday August 28

9:00-12:00  We meet in room 527 for;

                     -Course introduction to this and the parallel course "Preparation for an in depth study in design (EMD32A)"

                    -Introduction to the first assignment 1+3

                    -We will also take some time for individual introductions

13:00-xx     Joint informal mingle for all Embedded design students and teachers in the EmDes studio

 

Tuesday August 29

No course activities scheduled for today, to make room for the activities in Frihamnen. See Canvas calendar for more information.

 

Wednesday August 30

09:00-12ish: Wee meet in room 610 for peer-presentations and time for questions

Afternoon: Individual work with 1+3 assignment

 

Thursday August 31

13:00-16:00 We meet in room 332 for an Inspirational talk with Haris Kadic, Service designer at Kungsbacka municipality and David Joelsson, Business designer at Humblebee.

 

Friday September 1

Individual work with 1+3 assignment

Notify Helena by 5 PM of group constellation or individual work

 

Note that as part of the course we will visit the Parse conference. Please register as category 4 (that is free of charge) here. More information of the conference can be found here.

 

General course info

-Get acquainted with the course plan, which can be found in English and Swedish here.

-We will use the Canvas Calendar for schedule of this course. You can, as before also find the schedule by searching on the course name or course code in TimeEdit. Keep in mind that the TimeEdit version is not updated regularly and that the calendar in Canvas contains more information. Also, note that the course schedule is preliminary up to two weeks before the course starts!

-You can find the literature list under the module called General information about the course. You can also find it by searching on the course name or course code here.

-If you have any questions regarding course practicalities, don´t hesitate to contact Helena Kraff, course responsible.

-Carl-Johan Skogh, Ulises Navarro Aguiar and Amelia Dray are also engaged in the course as teachers.

 

Register for your courses

Don´t forget to register for the course in Ladok services.  Registration opens one week before the start of course. You must also be registered to be able access all course material published in Canvas.
