The course consists of an introductory meeting, a topic proposal seminar, four sessions with your supervisor and one peer review session. Your degree project will be examined at a final seminar.

The workshop in academic essay writing will focus on the following themes: structure, referencing, academic language and strategies for handling your individual writing process. Resources and support from the Unit for Academic Language (ASK) will be presented and there will also be time for your questions. Apart from signing up there are no preparations necessary. Welcome!

The librarian Emil Näslund gives a practical lecture and workshop about the most important things in terms of databases and their respective search techniques. You will get opportunities to test your new knowledge, to ask questions and discuss the databases' inner search logic

Please note that supervision is offered during one term only. If students are unable to finish their essays within the course period, they must notify the Director of Studies as soon as possible in order to save any remaining supervision for the next course opportunity. Such a notification must be given before the course ends. See syllabus for more details!
Please submit your topic proposal on canvas. The proposal should contain a title, an brief introduction, a statement of research aims and questions, some ideas concerning theoretical framework and concepts, main argument and a list of references.
