Kursöversikt

Welcome to the open page of the University of Gothenburg learning platform for the course EN1004 Överbryggande kurs i muntlig och skriftlig engelska (7.5 access education credits) in Canvas! On this page, you can find links to the course syllabus ('kursplan'), the literature list, and the schedule (in TimeEdit). Please note that there may be changes to the schedule.

Once you are registered for the course, more specific information about the course, e.g. a study plan and details on examination forms, will be available to you in the tabs 'Modules' and 'Assignments'. Please make sure that you have a copy of the course book, English Grammar in Use by Raymond Murphy (2019), when the course starts. Other teaching materials and resources will be made available in 'Modules'.

The seminars will take place live in Zoom at the times given in the TimeEdit schedule (see link below). A preliminary schedule will be available early in the autumn term, and a definite schedule will be available no later than 2 weeks before the start of the course. No seminars will be recorded. To access the Zoom classroom, click here: https://gu-se.zoom.us/j/5029331258. If you have not already downloaded the app on your computer, you will be prompted to do so then. It only takes a few seconds. You can read more about the Zoom app here (Links to an external site.)

Once you have completed the EN1004 course, you are qualified for English introductory level courses given at the Department of Languages and Literature at University of Gothenburg (provided you meet other entry requirements). The course gives access education credits ('förutbildningspoäng'/'fup'), and not higher education credits ('högskolepoäng'/'hp').

Looking forward to seeing you this autumn!
