Course syllabus
Welcome to the course "Intercultural and contrastive semantics and pragmatics" 7.5 hec.

The course treats theoretical and methodological basics of semantics and pragmatics, with both diachronic and diatopic approaches. Students are expected to acquire tools and skills for contrastive and crosslinguistic analyses in different discourses by using adequate methods in semantic and pragmatic analysis. Emphasis is placed on cultural linguistic phenomena and communicative strategies in cultural communication.
