Welcome to the course EU2112 European Heritage and Identity, 10 credits, Autumn 2024!

This is the first course of the Master's programme in European Studies -  Social science track and Humanities track. It is also offered as a freestanding course.

Programme Introduction

For programme students: The introduction to the Master's Programme in European Studies will take place on Thursday, the 29th of August, from 10:15 to 12:00 in room B210 Sprängkullsgatan 19. On the 30th of August, there will be a welcome event for all international students at 14:00 in B210. 

 

Course Introduction

The course introduction will be held on Tuesday, 3 September, from 09:15 to 12:00 in B210, Sprängkullsgatan 19. This session also includes the first lecture of the course.

 

Registration

To access all the pages on Canvas, you must be registered for the course.

  • For most students: You register online in Ladok between 26 and 28 August. More information about registration can be found here. If you do not have a Swedish personal identity number, you need to arrive in Sweden and activate your student account in person at a Servicecenter before you can register.
  • For exchange students: The education administrator will manually register you on the course on 26 August.

Before the course starts: If you want to prepare in advance, it will be useful to refresh your knowledge about European history (especially from the 1800s), and basic knowledge of the EU.

When you are registered and can log in to Canvas, you will have access to files for all parts of the course. The teachers will upload recommended readings, exercises, lecture slides and other useful documents or materials in the modules for each lecture/seminar. You will also need to be registered and logged in to be able to submit your own work in Canvas.

Find your way on Canvas

  • Canvas is based on Modules.
  • Once you are registered, you can log in to Canvas and find more information about the course.
  • Canvas is also the place where you submit assignments. There is a folder for each submission.

 

Plagiarism
