This is a distance course and all classes will be held via Zoom.
This course is based on research in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and Academic Literacies. It helps students develop academic literacy skills of relevance for university studies in any discipline where teaching and/or examination is in English. The course is organised around two main modes of communication, namely written and spoken:
-
The written parts focus on academic English, critical reading and writing, argumentation, linguistic correctness, and other stylistic aspects.
-
The spoken parts focus on developing the students’ ability to communicate appropriately, clearly, and correctly in academic contexts.
The course takes a hands-on approach and has been designed so that students can adapt the course tasks to their individual needs (e.g. different disciplines and levels).
