Course overview
This course commences the Bachelor's Programme in Business and Economics. The course provides an overview of economics and business administration, the two main subjects of the programme. The first of the three topical days about sustainability, which will be provided successively during the programme, is also included in the course: Sustainability Day – Challenges.

Course details
EKFN11 is lectured in English. It is a full-time course of 2 credits which is offered in the first cycle (bachelor's level) and is included in the first semester of the Bachelor’s Programme in Business and Economics. It is not offered as a freestanding course.
Course dates: 28 August - 1 September - these three days are voluntary but make it easier for you to pass the course and prepare for the rest of the semester. Official dates of the course are 2 September - 8 September.

Assessment
The learning outcomes of the course are assessed through a written e-examination and a self-correcting test regarding academic honesty.

Please note: Exam registration (sign up) in Ladok is required for all exams. For this examination, the registration period is 22 - 28 August. The registration deadline for later courses is 10 days prior to each exam date. The Student Portal has comprehensive information about exams in the university's examination halls. Please note that you, as a student, are responsible for complying with the rules for written examinations at the University of Gothenburg. It is therefore important that you read through this information well before your exam.
Some aspects of undertaking an e-examination are different from those of writing a paper-based exam. For example, a brought computer must meet specific system requirements, be able to connect to the eduroam network and have the Safe Exam Browser client installed. All necessary information can be found at the Student Portal. If you want to borrow a computer, it must be reserved in the TimeEdit system no later than five working days prior to the exam.
