LI1423/LI2423: Methods for studying dialogue,
7.5 credits
The purpose of the course is to find out about the basic interactive dimension of language use and structure and the specific conditions that apply when studying dialogue compared to those that apply in traditional linguistics.
Participants in the course become familiar with a number of different ways of approaching scientific problems within dialogue research, and with the possibilities and limitations of each method. It will cover both human-human and human-machine interaction, as well as, language acquisition, animal communication, and the issues that arise with current language technology developments.

Web registration
Self-registration by logging into Ladok online is compulsory and it can be made just one week prior to course start via the Studentportal: http://studentportal.gu.se/english/e-services/register-for-courses/ by entering the code LI1423. It is just after you have made your course registration in Ladok that you will be able to get your GU card at the nearest Servicecenter.
