Course Overview

The summer school will enhance students’ understanding of sustainability in business, providing a multidisciplinary and international perspective on this critical issue. By leveraging expertise from three leading European institutions, the course combines theoretical lectures, excursions and cross-cultural social events.

The course provides students with an understanding of the interplay between private actors and urban infrastructure systems (e.g. systems for energy, mobility/transportation and inclusive lifestyles). The focus is on the importance of collaboration to create sustainable urban futures. Students will develop knowledge of business models, policies, and innovation strategies that enable sustainable urban development.

Practically, the course is structured as an intensive one-week, on-site, course with lectures, seminars, excursions, project work and social gatherings. The course run from Monday morning to Friday afternoon. This requires students to do pre-reading in advance and to complete an individual written assignment in the two weeks following the on-site week.
