Course overview

The intention with EKF301 International Business, Bachelor Course (15 credits) is to prepare students for a professional career where they work in, or in a supporting function for, MNCs in a managerial role. The ability of the students to understand and critically analyze how cultural, institutional and economic differences between countries create prerequisites for international growth and organization of the MNC is developed in the course.

Emphasis is given to theories related to MNC evolution, organization and relation to the surrounding society. Based on extant research, students are trained to tackle and analyze current challenges to develop scientifically anchored recommendations contributing to sustainable development of MNCs.

Course details

EKF301 International Business, Bachelor Course (15 credits) is included in the sixth semester of the Bachelor Programme in Business and Economics for students majoring in business administration. It is also open to exchange students.

Course dates: 19 January to 25 March (quarter 1 & 2). Course registration in Ladokis required for programme students, and opens on 12 January. Please register for the course as soon as possible.

Assessment

The learning outcomes of the course are assessed through:

  • a written individual exam
  • active contribution in mandatory seminars
  • written and oral presentation of a case study
