Course overview

The aim of EKR111 Introduction to Commercial Law (3 credits) is to give you a basic understanding of the legal rules—such as laws, regulations, and customs—that govern relationships between businesses, as well as between businesses and society, organisations, and individuals.

During the course, you will develop the ability to identify legal problems and suggest appropriate solutions. The focus is on helping you understand how different legal rules relate to each other, including their similarities and differences, rather than learning detailed legal provisions.

Course details

EKR111 Introduction to Commercial Law (3 credits) is part of the Bachelor’s Programme in Business and Economics during the second semester. It is open to exchange students.

Course dates: 16 March to 29 March (quarter 2 & 3). Course registration in Ladok opens on 9 March. Please register for the course as soon as possible.

Assessment

The learning outcomes of the course are assessed through individual oral presentation of group work at a seminar, and a take-home exam.

Exam dates

Please note: You must register (sign-up) on Ladok for each exam you intend to take. The registration deadline is 10 days prior to each exam date. You can find information regarding start time and location of the exam under the tab Examinations (Examinationstillfällen) on Ladok.
