Course overview

EKF115 Management (6 credits) contains both a theoretical part and an applied part. The theoretical contents are concentrated on basic concepts, theories and perspective in organisation and leadership. In the applied part literature seminars will be utilised for discussion of cases which are analysed by means of the basic concepts in organisation and leadership.

The teaching is carried out in the form of lectures, literature seminars and report seminars. During the lectures, theoretical concepts and models are presented. In the literature seminars, the implications of the theories are discussed by the students, the students are expected to participate actively. In the report seminars, the connections
between theory and practical everyday situations in organisation and leadership are analysed and discussed. The course includes discussion of socially sustainable development related to organisation and leadership.

Course details

EKF115 Management (6 credits) is part of the Bachelor’s Programme in Business and Economics during semester 2. It is also open to exchange students.

Course dates: 27 April 2026  - 24 May 2026 (quarter 3 & 4). Course registration in Ladok opens on 20 April.

The learning outcomes of the course are assessed through an individual written exam and a written project report carried out in groups.
